Our next Reflexology class starts March 10th!
Reflexology is an alternative medical practice involving the application of pressure to specific points on the feet and hands. This is done using specific thumb, finger, and hand massage techniques. It is based on a system of zones and reflex areas that reflect an image of the body on the feet and hands, with the understanding that such work on the feet and hands effects a physical change to the related areas of the body.
This program will cover the basics of reflexology including the history, benefits and effects of reflexology as well as the principles and techniques in creating and applying a session. This class will educate you in related anatomy and physiology, professionalism, ethics, business, client intakes, assessment and documentation. You will also become familiar with hand reflexology as well as proper body mechanics.
Your clients will benefit from reflexology in so many ways including improved nerve function, increased circulation, elimination of toxins, nervous system stimulation, reduction of headaches, relaxation, boosting of energy levels, speeds healing and eases the side effects of cancer treatments!
Please note…you do not have to be a licensed massage therapist to become a trained reflexologist!
The reflexology program is a 200-hour program. Upon successful completion, you will be a certified reflexologist. The class is 4-1/2 weeks and can be done during the day or the evening.
