What is Bamboo Fusion Massage
Bamboo fusion massage, also known as a bamboo massage or bamboo fusion, is a relaxation technique that combines various lengths and widths of bamboo stalks to perform a deep-tissue massage.
“Hall of Fame” inductee (World Massage Festival 2009) and Teacher of the Year 2013 Nathalie Cecilia, is the creator and master of Bamboo Massage Therapy.
Many of Nathalie’s clients were asking for deep tissue treatment. She soon began to experience pain and fatigue in her hands and wrists. When she started using bamboo to assist her with deep tissue work, she noticed that her pain subsided and her clients loved it. She developed an innovative way to give bamboo massage on the table (Bamboo-Fusion) and in the chair, meanwhile creating her own bamboo set to give the massage.
Her goal today is to help therapists provide deep massage without pain. This technique aids in avoiding repetitive injuries, such as carpal tunnel, and reduces the stress on thumbs, wrists and hands.
Some bamboo massage therapists use a combination of traditional Chinese medicine, shiatsu, Ayurveda, Thai, and lymphatic drainage massage techniques to “unwind” tense, strained, and stressed muscles. Other bamboo therapists may use heated bamboo sticks, and/or heated essential oils to relax your body, or a combination of all of these approaches to provide relief and relaxation.
Bamboo massage not only encourages sensory nerve perception, circulation, and lymphatic drainage, it also provides you with a deep sense of “whole body” health, well-being, and relaxation. Although most bamboo fusion massages last from 45 minutes to an hour, the benefits last for days.
Bamboo fusion provides many benefits and can improve health and well-being. Some benefits can include easing headaches and migraines, improving arthritis, strengthening respiratory functions, unwinding tension knots, relieving back and shoulder pain, enhancing sports performance, reducing pain, accelerating the healing process, boosting energy, banishing stress, supporting physical and mental health and well-being, revitalizing the body, and calming the mind.
