Somatic Mindfulness – Grounding

Learn the theory and techniques to complement your massage treatments by reducing or eliminating the potential of massage therapist burnout and/or related injuries; preparing the client’s body for deep work with less strain; and developing, transmitting, and sharing mindfulness in action. Somatic Mindfulness workshops (Fundamentals, Connection, Grounding, Expansion & Radiance) expose the massage therapist to tragerwork and mindfulness-based skills that potentiate their therapeutic efficacy. Inherent to the method is support for the therapist’s self-care, ensuring career longevity. In Grounding, the emphasis is on the experience of proprioceptive rooting for balance and stability. Handles are explored around feet, legs, and hips and their interconnection with the rest of the body. Each workshop is self-contained, and there are no prerequisites to take each theme. All classes are approved for license renewal by the state of New York.

“Fernando is an incredible instructor! Somatic Mindfulness was the most interesting course I have ever taken. I absolutely loved it and will apply it to my massage practice for the rest of my life. I highly recommend taking his course and will try to take future courses with him as well!”

“Loved the class. It is just what I needed to incorporate in not only my technique but in life. Thank you. Fernando is great!”

“The course was fantastic. It brought a new awareness of the power of working softly to effect big change throughout the body. The pacing of the course was excellent, as was the amount of hands-on experience. I am so happy to have learned a set of skills to incorporate into my practice and teaching, and I look forward to the opportunity to learn more in the future. Thank you.”
