This course focuses on the connective tissue (fascia) of the pelvic girdle including structures that relate to the pelvis, hips and lower back. Techniques taught encourage the body to maintain better alignment and balance which results in less energy to function. Structural Bodywork theory, foundational concepts and techniques are used to lengthen tissue and facilitate a client’s positive relationship with gravity. The pelvis is known as the keystone of the body, connecting the lower half to the upper half. Therapists will learn to identify and affect common pathologies and patterns of dysfunction. A review of the anatomy of the pelvis in relationship to structure and function is covered in this course.
